About Us

Our Story

In 1918 Daniel Kanoff emigrated from Russia to the United States in search of the American dream. A watchmaker and silversmith by trade, he got a job working for a watch repair house located in Philadelphia. Only ten years later he was able to make his dream a reality and opened his own business, Philadelphia Case & Repair, repairing watches and manufacturing watch cases. In 1943 Daniel’s son Irving followed in his footsteps and learned the watch repair trade. He continued his inherited trade for over fifty years.

In 1964 the family tradition continued when Irving’s son Lenny began running errands to the Philadelphia jewelry district. During high school Lenny took a job as an apprentice jeweler setting stones at Sydney Cooper Jewelers. The jewelry business was put on hold when Lenny graduated high school and went into the Navy. Upon his discharge from the Navy, four years later, Lenny took a job for Morton’s Jewelers. Lenny quickly learned the retail jewelry business and before long was ready to open his own store.

In 1976, another dream became a reality when Lenny and Karen Kanoff opened Michael’s Jewelers in Fairless Hills, PA. Just eight years later in Richboro, PA a second Michael’s Jewelers was opened.

In 1992, Lenny’s son Michael entered the family business much the same way as his father had 28 years earlier. As Michael’s Jewelers delivery boy, Michael was responsible driving from Bucks County to the Philadelphia Jewelry district running errands for the two stores. After graduation from Pennsbury High School, Michael decided to work full time at Michael’s Jewelers. Recognizing that he wanted to expand his knowledge of the jewelry business, he decided to attend the Gemological Institute of America. Upon graduation from GIA, to gain outside experience, Michael worked for a local jewelry store in Santa Monica, CA. In 1996, Michael moved back east and began working at Michael’s Jewelers located in Richboro. Just one year later, the Richboro store was moved to its current location in Yardley, PA. We continue to bring to you the unsurpassed service and quality Michael’s Jewelers of Yardley and Fairless Hills has brought to Bucks County, PA since 1976.
